BI Governor Agus Martowardojo, with PT Transjakarta president director Antonius Nicholas and BNI president director Gatot Mudiantoro Suwondo use an e-money card for their journey from Transjakarta’s BI stop in Thamrin, Jakarta, on Thursday (14/8).

BI and the Association of Payment Systems of Indonesia (ASPI), including Bank Mandiri, have launched the National Non-Cash Movement (GNNT/Gerakan Nasional Non-Tunai) to acquaint the public with the use of e-money.

Through July 2014, the number of Bank Mandiri e-money cards reached 4 million, with transactions in the January-July period reaching 73 million, valuing in more than Rp750 billion (US$64 million).
